Participants can try out and fully engage in a choice of activities which can vary: arts, crafts, music making, singing together, healing drums and special yoga/massage in a friendly and enabling atmosphere. Members make choices and take control in the sessions as well and are offered opportunities to develop occupational, expressive and social skills. Certificate Ceremony - In June we hold a Certificate Ceremony celebrating everyone's unique contribution and achievements during the year.
Family carers are invited to do their own thing (join in yoga or massage, take up music or arts) or join their loved ones experience new ways to relate. Family carers share their experiences and have developed friendships and mutual support networks.
Sessions bring together people with and without disabilities, carers, support workers and volunteers all of whom contribute different skills and talents. We welcome neighbours and friends of the project to join in, assist or run a group.
At the end of the session everyone sits down together for a social time and a delicious freshly cooked multi cultural meal by our volunteer chef who recently won 5 star kitchen hygiene rating from the council's Food Inspector!!

People's Centre ran blocks of several Saturdays for families with a child with disabilities, siblings and their extended family and friends where we had music and art workshops, special yoga and specialist play workers. We would like to run some more sessions in the future and are talking with families and funders.
People's Centre has organised Open Days, Carers Days, BBQs, Music Making Concerts, Community Festivals and other events. We are also planning some fund raising events.. The next event will be on 5th September 2015, for families with a child with disabilities from 2pm and then as an Open Day, from 4pm.
